I just sewed on the buttons to totally complete my gift to my friend Claudine for her soon to be daughter, Lydia. This was a very fast and fun project that knits up quickly. I would highly recommend for a beginner knitter.
I was so happy that I had enough yarn left over to knit the matching hat. This sweet little set will be in the mail soon to make it just in time for her baby shower. I’m so excited for her and her husband and know that they both are anxious. Not too much longer you two! The pattern called for 10 skeins of Lion Brand Landscapes for size 24 months and I ended up using a total of 8 skeins, including what I used for the hat. I used size 10 US needles for a gauge of 12 sts= 4″. My finished project matched all measurements provided, so I would recommend purchasing the amount indicated for the pattern knowing that you might end up with an extra skein or two.
I’ve never used this particular yarn before but feel that it knitted up quite nicely. Even though this is a 50% wool/50% acrylic mix, it would felt great too.
