New Year’s Resolution

- Not to wait to the last minute to knit all my Christmas gifts.

- Decide what items to knit personally for all those I love.

- Be more selective on the yarns that I buy and not buy just for the great bargain.

- Visit my local yarn shops  at least twice a month .

Christmas knitting is now done and I have several projects lined up for the New Year.  I am still working on the basic knit hats for the “Ships Project” but I have a few more things I would like to start knitting soon.  I have been very neglectful of projects that I would like to start for myself but at the same time I feel a little selfish when I want to knit something just for me.  Like most of the knitters out there, we never knit for ourselves but for all those we love and cherish.

In the upcoming year, I want to start knitting more socks and found two beautiful cable style patterns for socks on Knitty .com that I fell in love with, but what a challenge they will be – take a peek at what I found

I hope that I am talented enough to follow two of my favorite patterns that I found, guess time will tell.  Both patterns are very Aran in style and I have just the right yarn to use - Plymouth’s Suri Alpaca, which is a beautiful mix of  55% Suri Alpaca/45% Extra Fine Merino.  I bought a few extra skeins of this yarn when I knitted the neck scarf for Michele and loved the way it knitted up.  It’s so soft and I can envision a pair of socks knitted out of this yummy yarn.

Happy Knitting!
