I simply can’t believe that we are 5 days away from Christmas! This year has flown bye too fast and I’m in awe that the New Year is soon to be upon us. It almost feels like Christmas here in Phoenix with chilly night time temperatures in the mid 30′s and the day time temperatures in the low 60′s, but I truly miss the winter weather in Louisville. I miss the Christmas spirit, the holiday atmosphere and most of all, the smell of the warm roasted nuts floating in the air at the mall. But, I tell myself that being warm is a good trade off and not driving in snow or on ice is a blessing.
My husband and I have finished all our Christmas shopping and all the gifts have been mailed out. Whew…. now I can relax and knit a bit. I just received an email from Nashua Handknits with two free patterns for fast last minute gifts. I simply love the mini hat and scarf pattern they sent and plan to knit a set this weekend. I wanted something cute to put on a bottle of wine that I am giving as a gift, and this is perfect.
So, I’m off to get my Mom, who wants to go to Michaels today. I’ll be picking up a skein or two of yarn for this little project.
