I think spring has sprung in my house. I’ve been extremely motivated to spring clean and make a trip to the local Goodwill will “stuff” that has been accumulated over the past few months. Today is another beautiful day in Arizona and I have the house opened up ~ yes, it’s warm enough at 72 degrees ~ and the sunshine is streaming in. Ahh…. blue skies, sunshine and flowers blooming, what more could a girl possibly want! Yarn of course….. I’m such a typical knitter.
I stopped in at Michael’s to pick up a couple of items and walked out with a bag full of Lion Brand’s Wool-Ease Thick and Quick in the colors of Fisherman and Hazelnut. My hubby has been after me to knit another lap blanket so I’ll stop sealing the one I made for him a couple of years ago. The pattern for this is called “Cable Comfort Throw” using 9 skeins of the Thick & Quick on US size 13 needles. This is a very easy pattern and truly a perfect way for beginners to learn to cable. Lion Brand is wonderful website to add to your favorites for a great collection of patterns that are “free” to download or to save.
I made my normal Saturday morning stop at Barnes and Nobles and purchased the spring issue of Interweave knits, which included a pattern from Kristeen Griffin-Grimes book “French Girl Knits”. An I loved what Vicki Square’s ne motto is ” Start as many new projects as you can!” She has a good article on page 18 of this issue. I also purchased an intriguing book called “The Traveler” by John Twelve Hawks ~ it looks really good and I can’t wait to sit down to read it with my new throw on my lap.
Happy knitting!
