I really loved the way my Hermione Cable and Eyelet hat turned out. Now I’m ready to tackle the actual pattern out of Charmed knits ~ Hermione’s Cable and Bobble Hat, along with the matching mittens. Both projects look like fun and they will be perfect gifts for someone on my Christmas list, I’m sure.
Please pardon my vent session: Don’t you just hate it when you stop by Michael’s to pickup a matching skein of yarn to find they are totally out? My local Michael’s store is beginning to get on my nerves. They have totally cut down their yarn inventory and have had signs posted since February “New Yarn Department Coming this Spring” ~ hello, it’s April and it’s spring! I don’t use them to much for yarn but simply wanted another skein of Patons Classic wool to match my first KAL hat. Sigh…. I settled on an oatmeal color. I guess I can look on the bright side, it is a more neutral color, but gosh darn it I wanted Gryffindor colors!
Happy knitting!
I just finished my Hermione’s Cable and Eyelet hat, which was the first project for the Harry Potter Crafters KAL on Raverly. I used the pattern suggested by Jackie Lauseng’s pattern of JL Yarnworks . I truly love the way the cables come to a point at the top of the hat and recommend this pattern to everyone. This was very easy, very speedy (finished in two full evenings) to knit and now I can’t wait to knit the Cable and Bobble pattern out of Charmed Knits.
Happy knitting!
Today is a grand day ~ my scarf is finished, photos have been taken and the pattern is complete. I’m so excited , so much so that I’ve posted the actual scarf and the pattern on Etsy, and soon will post the pattern on Ravelry. I plan to create a pattern for a hat as well and will get started on that project soon. This was a fun project and it turned out so well. I love the way Noro Silk Garden yarn gives a melody of color. The color I used for the pattern and scarf truly remind me of Arizona Sunsets.
I’m still trying to decide on my entry for the AslanTrends contest and want something unique and different. My husband has been helping with a few neat ideas that I have been translating into knitting and the use of cables ~ may prove to be interesting. But before I start on that venture, I must getting to work knitting the Hermione’s Cable Hat that I’m two days behind on for the KAL in Ravelry. I do need more time!
Happy knitting!
I’m so excited! My scarf will be done tomorrow and I’ll be ready to post my pattern. I love it – it’s warm, soft and Noro yarn simply provides a unique pattern in their Silk Garden line. Can’t wait to share.
The KAL for Hermoine’s hat started today but alas due to time constraits, I will be starting that project this weekend.
Have a lovely evening of knitting.
