I simply cannot believe that tomorrow is Thanksgiving. I know for some, Thanksgiving can quite daunting and even stressful, but for me, Thanksgiving is a time of reflection, a time of sharing and a time to be thankful for all that I am blessed to have. I’m so blessed to have a wonderful caring, loving husband, loving parents, loving in-laws and a funny little dog that has brought joy to our family. Most of all, I feel so blessed to live in a free country, and thank God every day for the men and women who serve in the military to keep it that way, to have a job, clothes on my back and to have a home. So, on that note, I wish everyone a very blessed and Happy Thanksgiving!
Buttermilk Pie ~ fresh out of the oven! I decided to make my Grandma’s buttermilk pie recipe for Thanksgiving. I love this pie and it brings back tons of memories! It’s so good that I wanted to share the recipe…..
Grandma’s Buttermilk Pie
2 Cups Sugar
3 Tablespoons flour
1/2 Cup butter (melted)
3 Large eggs
1/2 Cup buttermilk
3/4 Teaspoon “real” vanilla
2 Tablespoons fresh lemon juice
Directions: Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Mix all ingredients together and pour into an unbaked pie crust. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes and then turn oven down to 350 degrees and bake for another 45 to 60 minutes, or until top is a medium golden brown and pie is set in the middle.
Note: This recipe is for a regular pie pan, not a deep dish pan.
While outside last night grilling, hubby took this photo of a male hummingbird hanging out around our lavender. I need to trim the lavender really bad but the hummingbirds love it, so I’m waiting for the blooms to finish a bit before trimming.

That pie recipe looks delicious!
Another cool hummingbird photo! Nice!
