Rainy day, knitting and photos

18 01 2010

It’s been a very chilly and rainy day in Phoenix today, but I’m not complaining in the least.  For me, it’s been very enjoyable to see the dark skies, gentle rain falling and the trees slightly moving with a whisper of a breeze.   It’s a perfect day to say the least and has been filled with knitting.  While relishing my day of projects,  I have also finished Wives and Daughters, which was very enjoyable and I do love my period movies.   If you love Elizabeth Gaskell’s Cranford, you’ll really like this video too.

I’m so happy to finish my 2nd KAL of the month, Alix’s Prayer Shawl, for the A Good Yarn Ravelry group.  I decided to make this particular pattern a shawlette in place of a full-size shawl and I really love the results.  I had chosen Malabrigo at first for this project, but due to the color it was very hard for me to see the stitches, so I frogged it and went with the Queensland Collection Haze, a blend of Corn Viscose and Cotton.  It’s oh so soft!!!

My Prayer Shawlette

I decided to share a photo of my little corner of the universe, what I call my knitting studio.  I had lots of fun trying out the “panorama” setting on the camera, so it might look a little odd,  but thought it would be fun to share.    I do love my little area of knitting …. it’s eclectic and quaint.   You are welcome to “click” on the photo for a better view.

Hi Tina,
First, I love the prayer shawl; it’s beautiful….Is it a gift or for you?
I just had to giggle when I saw that you had posted a picture of “YOUR SPACE”….I have been thinking about doing the same thing. I love my space and I love seeing where others create…….I always look forward to “Where Women Create” puts out a new copy…I just devor it as I so much enjoy seeing where other women spend their precious creative time…..
Your space looks peaceful and organized; a place where lots can happen…..
Thanks for sharing,
Nancy

Hi Nancy…. Thank you so much. The shawl is for me and part of my “selfish” knitting for the new year. You should share a photo of your space! It’s always fun to see where ladies spend their time to create marvelous pieces of work. I love “Where Women Create” – it’s very inspiring to say the very least. Happy knitting!

Very nice shawl! I looooove Haze, I made a little neck kerchief out of it and it’s so soft!

Tina,

I love your crafting area…very nice and looks so comfy.

I would enjoy knitting in the chair by the lamp…with some Fleet Foxes or Swell Season playing softly in the background.

A very good area for your creativity.

I love Wives and Daughters! I’m a sucker for all of those Masterpiece Theaters. I just saw that Our Mutual Friend is on Netflix Instant Watch, and I will for sure be hitting that soon!

Oh me too…. thank you for the “Our Mutual Friend” mention, I didn’t know about it and added it to my Netflix list.

Your space looks wonderful, and so organized. I’m jealous. It’s nice to see into your world just a bit.
