Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? ~ Ginny from Small Things
I casted on the Double Leaf Saroyan by Liz Abinante late Monday and really didn’t start knitting until last night and this morning. I love the pattern and the leaves are starting to appear. I think this will be a super fun project and will be great for this winter. Meantime, I’m still working on my Vodka Lemonade, which sadly has taken a back seat to other projects.
As far as reading is concerned, I just started part two in the book, The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien. This has been quite enjoyable to read and I’m not sure why I never read it before.
Happy knitting and reading!

The project is beautiful. I love the yarn. I’ve knit with it before and it is so soft!
Thank you oodles Dahle and it is indeed soft
I have Vodka Lemonade in my Ravelry que! Such a lovely pattern!
I, too, have never read LOTR, but it is in my “must read this summer” pile!
It’s a great pattern Amy, you’re going to enjoy knitting it! Good for you in adding th LOTR series to your summer reading – I’m enjoying book one !
I love the colors of you yarn!
Thank so much Melissa!
Hi! I want to learn how to knit but I am not sure what to buy and how to start. I wonder if you can recommend a book for a beginner like me.
Hi …. there are lots of books out there, but here are a few I would recommend.
1) Teach Yourself Visually – Knitting
2) I Taught Myself Knitting by Boye
3)The National Needlearts Association – How to Knit
4)Chicks with Sticks Guide to Knitting
If you’re not opposed to learning by online class, I would also suggest Knit Lab with Stefanie Japel
I hope this helps
You’ve got a great start on your shawl and I really like your stitch markers!
LOL … you are such a speedy knitter!!!! I made my stitch markers with a bunch of left over jewelry findings I had laying around (yep, I’m a well rounded crafter)
You ARE a well rounded crafter. I tend to use little snippets of yarn for my stitch markers (I don’t have to worry about misplacing them. lol )
Ahhhh…. Thanks Simone
Gee, that’s going to be just gorgeous, I can tell already!
You’re really whipping out the projects girlie! GOOD.FOR.YOU! ♥
Thank you Wen ~ It’s been a fun project so far
