Casting On and Casting Off: Double Leaf Saroyan is done!

I finished my Double Leaf Saroyan late last night and I love how it turned out.  This was a fun knit and I look forward to wearing my small shawl this fall.  The colors are a mix of deep purple, greens and a touch of teals.

Pattern:  Double Leaf Saroyan designed by Liz Abinante.  This pattern contains very limited written instructions but does have charts to follow.  I did find one error in the pattern at the very end but noticed that Liz posted an errata on Ravelry.  I completed the start-up section, knitted 11 increase sections, knitted 2 straight sections and then knitted 10 decrease sections followed by the end leaf.

Yarn:  Malabrigo Yarn – Rios, a worsted  weight 100% merino wool that comes in 210 (100 gram) skeins.  I used two skeins for this project and had 14 yards of yarn left over.

Started:          May 28 2012
Completed : June 10 2012
Blocked Measurements:  14″ at the widest point and 78″ in length.

My next project that I will be casting on is a lovely new design by Anne Hanson, Wandering Thyme.  I have a gorgeous skein of Natural Dye Studio in a 2-ply lace weight in  Angel, a blend of 70% Alpaca, 20% Silk and10% Cashmere.
Until next time, happy knitting, crocheting, spinning and crafting!
