The last few days have been quite busy and hectic for me, but I’ve managed to do a bit more spinning and I even managed to “destash” quite a bit of yarn on eBay. There’s nothing better than a little spring cleaning for the craft room. Of course my hubby just laughs at me and tells me he knows that I will be getting more yarn to replace what I just unloaded, which is a true statement. He knows me far too well!
Over the past weekend I finished plying my Romney and was so excited to end up with a lovely skein of fingering weight yarn coming in at 242 yards, which is a lot for me. After I’m finished spinning my Shetland and Silk blend, which is quite yummy, I plan to spin the two dusty blue colors of Romney fiber, 2 oz of each. I will ply them together as well and aim for the same amount of yardage.

I frogged the handspun beret I was working on last week and I had to laugh at how large it was turning out to be. It was quite hilarious to say the very least. So after much searching, I found what I think is the perfect pattern for my 200 yards of BFL Fiber, Shizuku by Angela Tong, which was in the 2012 Knitting a Pattern a Day Calendar and is available as a free download on Raverly. This is a fun project so far and I will have a progress photo tomorrow for the Wednesday Yarn Along.
Until next time, happy knitting, crocheting, spinning and crafting!

Your handspun is beautiful! Can’t wait to see the blues spun up.
Thank you Simone – of course you are my inspiration to get back into my spinning
