Yarn Along: Knitting With a Bit of Reading!

Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs.  I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well.  So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading?  ~ Ginny from Small Things

My reading really has been suffering, which means I’m still on the same book Isolde, Queen of the Western Isle by Rosalind Miles.  I guess I’ve been enjoying too many other projects, including working out in my yard.  This week I’ve added two more books to take a look at, both by the Royal School of Needlework.  The first is Blackwork by Becky Hogg and the second is Crewelwork by Jacqui McDonald.  I have plans for making a pillow cover in crewel this summer and I can’t wait to get started.

I finished my modified version of  the Shizuku scarf by Angela Tong.  Due to yardage constraints with my handspun, I ended up with a scarf version measuring 4″ at the widest point by 55″ in length.  It was a fun knit that really was super quick.  I will make another one that is the full version!  I decided it was time to work on a much neglected WIP, my Cable Lagoon socks.  This WIP was destined to be for the Ravellenic 2012 Games for TeamYoss2012 of the Year of Stash Socks, but I decided I wanted to work on them before this even started.

Happy knitting and reading!
