Catching up on WIPs !

While my father-n-law was in the hospital over the last week (he’s now home and doing much better), I was able to get quite a bit of knitting done.  I took two of my projects with me so I could alternate a bit for variety.

I’ve made wonderful progress on my beloved Vodka Lemonade cardigan.  I managed to knit 3″ of the body and it is starting to take shape nicely.  My plan this weekend is to make even more progress with a goal to finish up in at least two weeks or less.

I also worked on my Calla Lilly Tweeds sock and was able to get the heel all finished and now I’m working on the foot.  I hope to be finished with this sock soon so I can cast on the mate.  This project will take both of my skeins of Patons, one for each sock.  I love the squishy, cushy feel of this sock and think it might become a favorite for wearing around the house.

Once these two knitting projects are completed, I hope to start a cardigan from my Mom as a birthday gift.  I have the yarn in my stash, eight skeins of Plymouth Encore in the colorway Grape Jam and I’m trying to decide on just the right pattern.  I’m thinking the Sketchbook Cardigan by Lion Brand might be just the ticket as it is a raglan sleeve tradition style that she would love.

I ended the week by receiving a wonderful surprise.  My boss just came back from a trip to Solvenia and brought back the most beautiful table scarf created in ribbon embroidery as a gift for me.  My co-worker received a similar one, but instead of netting, hers is crocheted and instead of flowers, there are ribbon embroidered baskets with flowers.  I love mine to pieces and I can’t wait to find just the right place to use it.

Until next time, happy knitting, crocheting, spinning and crafting!

  1. Everything is so pretty! I love the color on the Vodka Lemonade. I think a darker tone gives it a completely different look.

  2. Patons Kroy is one of my favourite socks yarns. I like the sock pattern you are knitting.

  3. And what is the beautiful white piece that your first two projects are lying on? Everything is gorgeous – and what a nice boss!
