Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? ~ Ginny from Small Things
I’m late for posting but I’m excited that I will be completing the final clue to the Fantasia Mystery KAL. I love how this shawlette is turning out and look forward to blocking this project this coming weekend. Here’s a link to my Ravelry project page. I also decided not to do the other KALs mentioned in an earlier post for various reasons. I did start the Myrtle Mystery KAL by Mia Rinde but did not care for the design. So it has been frogged and I’ve started Kernel by Bonnie Sennott instead, and still using my stash of Liberty’s Yarn Sockingbird . I love the look so far and will post photos soon!
As far as reading, I’m currently reading Mockinjay, the final book in the Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins and plan to start Into the Wilderness by Sara Donati, which has received rave reviews by many of my fellow bloggers and knitters.
So, what have you been knitting and reading?

I am ashamed to say I haven’t read a novel in going on 2 years!
I’ve gone for long periods of time not reading but realized it was good for me to read before going to bed and even before going to work
I’m really excited to see your finished shawl. I love the way the pattern flows.
I am currently reading “The Jungle Book” by Rudyard Kipling to the kids but we’re almost finished. I’m thinking that we’ll probably start reading either “Little House In The Big Woods” by Laura Ingalls Wilder or “Wind In The Willows” by Kenneth Grahame as our next book. I have read both of them many times but enjoy them more and more each time I read them and I also want to share them with my kids
I love the Jungle Book and have very fond memories of my Mom and I reading the Little House books when I was in first grade -wow, that was over 40 years ago! You and your kids will love reading them together
I love how the pattern flows too Simone and can’t wait to finish!
Woah, LOVE the grey shawl!
Thank you so much! It’s almost done:)
You will have to update with how you feel/felt about the 3rd book when your done. I called my cousin (the one I borrowed it from) and told him I almost wanted to put the book down and stop reading cause I didn’t like the direction it was going in. However I didn’t, and feel fine about it. I am reading The Wind throigh the Keyhole by Steven King, and I haven’t knit a stitch in weeks thanks to over 90 temps and now humidity.
The third book is indeed taking a very new direction and seems to have a few new twists to it. I will be posting my thoughts soon
. I’ve not read any of Steven King’s books, they seem to be a bit scary but that’s just me. I so understand about knitting when it’s warm and humid, even small projects are not fun. Fingers crossed for cooler weather soon:)
Steven King is only known for scary, so when a co worker recommended one of his books I was skeptical. He assured me that it was fantasy so I gave it a try. Everything in the Dark Tower Series is fantasy, similar to The Lord of the Rings. The Wind Through The Keyhole would be a great sample, that doesn’t require extra reading.
Well that is interesting to know! I’ll have to check that series out.
