Yarn Along: Work in Progress and Of Course Reading!

Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs.  I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well.  So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading?  ~ Ginny from Small Things

I’m still reading The Map of Time: A Novel  by Felix J. Palma and I have to say that I’m really loving it!  I also purchase the audio book of Into the Wilderness by Sara Donati.   I think I might enjoy listening to this book a bit more than reading it.

I’m just about finished with my Top Down Swing Pullover!  I have one sleeve to go and then I will have a brand new sweater to wear before it gets way too warm here in Phoenix.  I’m also working on clue 2 of my TTL Mystery Sock KAL by Kirsten Kapur of Fans of Through the Loops group online at Ravelry.  I love the pattern so far and can’t wait to start my second sock later this week.  Honestly, knitting two socks at the same time is way much easier!

So, what are you currently reading or listening too?

Do you have a fun new project on the needles?

Until next time, happy knitting, crocheting, spinning and crafting!

I got the Palma book from the library because you mentioned it. Just finished Susan Caine: Quiet – the power of introverts in a world that can’t stop talking.

  2. Love the sweater, great color! I’ll have to put that book on my to-read list! I’m still working out one of my hat patterns – one more iteration to go!

  3. Unfortunately I’m not reading anything at the moment, need to find me a good book, just haven’t found one to grab my attention. However, I’m knitting on a hat t(hat I’m designing myself), from some of my Handspun Merino/Tencel (colorway: Henry) Yarn (I’m almost finished).

  4. Still reading George R.R. Martin, currently A Dance with Dragons. One more book in the series after this one! Knitting is all about socks – my feet get cold & stay that way all winter. I have bought yarn for sweaters (yes, plural!) but haven’t started them yet.

    • Oh knitting socks is so fun and your feet feel much more warm in hand knitted ones :) I haven’t read George RR Martin’s series but watched season 1 of the book via NetFlix. Hurray for sweaters! I look forward to seeing what you create this year.

  5. Congratulations on getting the sweater so close to finished, so quickly. I really like the design of your new socks too. I’ve never learned 2 socks at a time, but I’ve never had a problem with second-sock syndrome either. So I guess I just mosey along as I do. :)

I’m working on a tunic top for myself, a scarf for I don’t know, and reading a Dean Koontz short stories book, and really enjoying it.

  6. I really like that design and the color you used! Recently, I was an inch away from buying the top down sweater collection book that is making the rounds right now. It just looks like it has a lot of good designs that could easily be altered. That book also sounds quite intriguing!

    • Thank you Beth! Sounds like you might be talking about Ann Budd’s new book. I love top down seamless designs – they’re so fast, easy, and versatile.

  7. I really enjoyed Into the Wilderness and your knitting is beautiful.

  8. I’m excited to see your finished Swing Pullover. You knit that so quickly and I really love the color.

As for reading, I’v just started “War and Peace” by Leo Tolstoy. I’ve wanted to read this for ages and when I came across as copy in a thrift store, I figured now was the time!

    • Oh I really should read War and Peace – I look forward to hearing your thoughts about it :) Thank you too on my sweater, I’m anxious to get it finished.

Yay on your future listening to Into The Wilderness. I enjoyed listening to that book, and think you might enjoy the audio version over the book version. I’m still working my way through The Scarlet Letter. It’s been difficult for me to concentrate on, not sure why. I read it many years ago in school and don’t remember it being so hard to concentrate on. :D
