I have officially finished my granny square afghan and I love the result. After going through three of my crochet books looking for just the right edging, I decided upon the dainty bobble edge found in the Harmony Guides: Crochet Edgings and Trims. To me it was the perfect finish.

For this project I used several skeins of stash yarn and purchased two skeins of Jo-Ann Sensations for a bit of contrast.
Yarns Used:
- 1 skein of Jo Sharp Silk Road Ultra in Seafoam
- 2 skeins of Jo Sharp Silk Road Ultra in Birch
- 1 skein of Berkshire Bulky in Medium Heather Gray
- 3 skeins of Berkshire Bulky in Dark Heather Gray
- 1 skein of Cascade Yarns Baby Alpaca Chunky in Monterey Bay
- 1 skein of Cascade Yarns Baby Alpaca Chunky in Ice Flower
- 2 skeins of Jo-Ann Sensations It’s A Wrap in Taupe
Hook Size: 8.0 mm (L)

I have been making chevron inspired baby blankets out of my stash. I’m addicted!

looks great been making the neck warmers since Christmas for Hubby and I, but now looks like I will be getting into my stash of yarn soon.
Thank you Deborah! Neck warmers are such fun to make and are great for stash busting
Absolutely beautiful! Congratulations on a project well done, and in very good time too, IMHO. The colors blend beautifully as well.
Ahhh…. Thank you Sandie
Q – Beautiful! The colors are lovely.
Thank you oodles!
beautiful! it’s been many many years since i’ve crocheted a granny square, such lovely work you’ve done!
Thank you Lori
I really have felt for a good while that I had just seen enough granny squares in my life, since my mother and aunts all made them in abundance. This, however, is a really nice project. I love the big square with little squares. I love the colors. I even love the edging! Altogether, a happy union of all those parts. You have a good eye. Yay!
What a compliment and thank you so much
Love those colors! The neutrals are just beautiful, and the edging is a great touch.
This is really pretty, Tina. It looks very nice draped over your bed but I think it will be a nice lap cosy on colder evenings. Very nice!
Thank you so very much Bonny!
Love it! Your afghan is gorgeous and I really like the edging you picked out.
I love it!
oh WOW, that’s fantastic Tina. Another reason why I want to learn to crochet.
Thank you Wen
This is beautiful! I love the colors.
Thank you so much
Beautiful!! I really want to make some granny squares some day too. When I see someone making them, their fingers move too fast for me to get it though, lol. I tell people I think learning to knit a pattern was so much easier than learning to follow a crochet pattern because whenever I tried, I was always wondering WHICH chain am I supposed to crochet into?! Ha ha!
Oh thank you so much
I so know what you mean about the chain issue, I still have that problem at times, lol
