I LOVE crochet! There, I’ve said it and sometimes I really miss doing crochet projects as I get so caught up in knitting.
My Mom taught me to crochet when I was very young and I have so many fond memories of making projects along side her, especially afghans. I’ve not made too many crocheted garments but I want to, especially after seeing a few new patterns on the Lion Brand website that has captured my attention!
Next is the Top Down Crochet Jacket. This project uses two yarns I absolutely love and enjoy knitting with, Amazing Yarn and Fisherman’s Wool. For this design you will also need an US size I-9 hook and an US size J-10 hook. I actually have enough Fisherman’s Wool for this project but I will need to purchase a few extra skeins of Amazing. Sounds like a trip to the store!
The last one is the Round-About Cardi. This project requires three skeins of Heartland, and depending up on the size you choose to make, a size US G to size US I-9 hook. I particularly like this pattern for the simplicity, not to mention that I may be able to stash bust!
After writing this post, I decided to start the Top Down Crochet Jacket and I’ve made great progress. I’ve already crocheted six rows this morning. Another reason I love crochet, it can be quicker than knitting at times
For this project I’m using my stash of Lion Brand Fisherman’s Wool in Oatmeal (FYI: I do not post all of my stash on Ravelry, believe me I have a few more skeins that has not been placed there), along with two skeins of Amazing in the colorway called Constellation. I will have to buy a few more skeins of Amazing, but at least I finally found a project that I love enough to use my Fisherman’s Wool for!
If you crochet, have you spotted new designs that you have fallen in love with? Please share, I would love to hear about them!
Until next time, happy knitting, crocheting, spinning and crafting!
