Legendary Knits Blog Tour and a Giveaway

I am so excited to be part of a blog tour featuring my friend Anne’s book, Legendary Knits.

Anne’s new collection is stunning, romantic and timeless!  I truly don’t know which design I will knit first, but I can tell you I’m truly anxious to cast on the Scheherazade Stole, Demeter Socks and the Rappaccini’s Daughter Shawl.

Here’s what you’ll find inside ….

Rapunzel’s Sweater – A graceful fitted garment with cable accents on the sleeves and hem.

Icarus Socks – worked from the cuff down featuring a winged motif in lace that spirals down the foot.

Scheherazade Stole – a rectangular piece that is knitted from one end to the other featuring a lattice-work/diamond motif border and edge, an easy slip-stitch colorwork pattern for the body.

Scheherazade Stole

The Woodman’s Sweater – a manly sweater featuring a boxy silhouette with modified drop shoulder sleeves, and a simple ribbed collar. My husband really likes this one!

Demeter Socks – featuring a simple wheat-sheaf lace motif on the front of the sock, and an easy-to-work textured barleycorn motif around the rest of the leg, framing the wheat sheaf.

Demeter Socks

Rappaccini’s Daughter Shawl – this semi-circular/almost hexagonal shawl features two narrow vertical bands of a floral lace pattern that run down the arms to the hem, with a matching floral lace pattern border, and an easy lace leaf motif for the remainder of the shawl

Rappaccini’s Daughter Shawl

Sleeping Beauty Cowl – a lovely colorwork piece knitted in the round using floral motifs.

Six Swans Sweater – a boat neck sweater  featuring a simple raglan-sleeve construction and bands of colorwork thistles around the body and sleeves.

This collection is truly beautiful and perfect for everyone’s wardrobe!  I will also add that Anne offers well written line by line instructions, as well as charted instructions where needed and very detailed schematics that will aid in the creation of a perfect fit!

I am quite excited to share that Anne has sent me two extra copies of her book to giveaway as prizes.  To enter, simply leave a comment telling me what your favorite design is in this collection.

This  giveaway is open to all and will close on Sunday the 29th  at 6:oo pm PST with the winners chosen by Random.org and announced on Monday the 30th.

The tour will continue over at these crafty blogs!

Sept 16th: Andi of My Sister’s Knitter

Thank you all for reading and entering – this opportunity is now closed :)

I love the cowl; it’s gorgeous. But I’m on the lookout for a sweater for hubby and Woodsman is really nice. HOWEVER, hubby just cut his foot with a chainsaw while doing firewood, so I might have to change the name for my sweater!

I’d love to try the Woodsman’s Sweater. I recently cast on my first-ever sweater, and it’s so much fun!

I like the exotic look of the Scheherazade Stole. Overall I think that’s my favorite. I like the look of the Sleeping Beauty Cowl, but really, why would you put something like that on a person in a spell-induced coma? They might suffocate. Unless that’s magical protections knitted into all those little swirls.

I think the designs in this book are really beautiful. I think I would have to choose the Rappaccini’s Garden Shawl as my favourite though. Many thanks.

Sleeping Beauty Cowl is my absolute favourite. I have some local, handspun, naturally dyed yarns I’d love to use to create this amazing piece.

Volume One – does this mean there will be more in the future? The collection is really nice, and I’d love to see more. My favourite is almost certainly the Rapunzel sweater.,

I like the Demeter socks. my daughter and I have been reading the story of Persephone. The socks personify a bountiful, happy Demeter when Persephone is restored to her, albeit for a limited time.

Rapunzel sweater is my favorite, but this is one collection where I’m likely to knit up nearly all the patterns – both shawls, Six Swans and Woodsman are are hovering near the top of my queue :)

Wonderful book! My favorite, hands down, is the Woodsman sweater. This would make an incredible Christmas gift for my teenage grandson :)
