Today is a perfect day for hot tea, knitting and thumbing through a few fun mags!

This morning I truly wished I had taken my camera with me when hubby and I left to go shopping.  We had a thick layer of fog early today and seeing the sun rise in fog is magnificent, not too much eerie looking.  It’s been a long time since I’ve seen fog like this and have to say it was quite enjoyable.

We didn’t do too much this morning as I was anxious to get home to knit.  I came home with a few new magazines, including the latest issue of Vogue, which I haven’t purchased in so many years that I can’t even tell you the last issue I read.  I couldn’t pass up the new Tea Time issue with “A Downton Abbey Tea” on the front cover and I loved the cover photo to Crochet featuring the Asymmetrical Cardigan designed by Erika Knight.

I’m also thinking about winding my lovely new skeins of Rowan Creative Linen in SH 624 Foggy, an appropriate name for today’s weather in Phoenix, that I purchased last weekend for a new crochet project called Pinecones that is designed by Yumiko Alexander.  I love just about everything Yumiko designs and find her creations to be fresh, unique, simple and one of a kind.  One fact you might not know, she resides right here in the Phoenix area, so I’m also loving the thought of supporting a local fiber artist!

I hope that you are having a “stress free” weekend and relaxing before Christmas, which is only 4 days away!  Oh where did the year go!!

Until next time, happy knitting, crocheting, spinning and crafting!

  1. Sounds like a lovely way to spend the last weekend before Christmas Tina. I like the magazines you bought. They look lovely. Drinking tea, reading mags and knitting sounds perfect to me. Enjoy yourself tomorrow and have a wonderful Christmas.

  2. Sandra

I like everything about this post! The tea, the magazines, Downton Abbey. I once visited Phoenix from Pennsylvania and stopped at a yarn shop, where I, too, purchased yarn for a pattern by Yumiko Alexander, the Rolling Hills vest. Merry Christmas to you!!

    • Thank you so much Sandra! The Rolling Hills is a beautiful design and one that I was able to see in person from Yumiko at a trunk show. Merry Christmas to you too!

  3. Looks like you’re in for a relaxing afternoon. Enjoy! :)

  4. Sounds like a wonderful afternoon! Happy holidays Tina!
