Wednesday WIPs ~ Socks!

wipI am busy working on socks, toe up socks to be exact.

I started my Trilobite Socks last Friday and today I bound off the first sock ~ yippee!  I have my second skein of yarn caked, but it has so much blue in the yarn it would not be a perfect mate.  After going through stashes on Ravelry, I found a skein of  Cherry Tree Hill Yarn Louet Gems Fingering  that matched almost perfectly and the owner of the skein was willing to part with it.

So, I’m in a waiting mode to cast on the second sock but here’s look at my finished first sock :)

I have also casted on a vanilla toe up using Wendy Knits Toe-up Slip-Stitch Heel Basic Sock Pattern .  A few of you may recognize the yarn I’m using and if you don’t,  it’s the yarn I was using for a pair of Vanilla Latte Socks  that rather got frogged last week.  After really looking at my sock, which had sat on the needles untouched for almost two months,  I decided that I really did not like the sock.  So, it was frogged and the yarn was re-caked, both skeins actually, and I measured out the stripes on both cakes for a starting point, which I hope will give a matching pair of striped socks.

My Misty Pearl vest in Knit Picks Cotlin is on hold right now but I will pick this project back up this weekend.

What have you been working on?

Until next time, happy knitting, crocheting, spinning and crafting!

Great sock! Its definitely worth the extra effort to get a close match on color.

I am working on creating my first sock pattern – I’ve knit the first test sock and am checking my pattern writing with the knitting of the second one. Looking forward to photographing them and getting it finished!
