I Love My Crazy Monkeys!

I officially have a pair of  Los Monos Locos/The Crazy Monkeys socks and I love them!  I’m very pleased that I was able to match up my stripes to near perfections ~ what are the odds, right?

The particulars:

Yarn:   2 skeins of Regia Design Line Kaffe Fassett Landscape in the color Fog.

Needle:  US1 (2.2mm)

Modification:  I used Wendy Johnson’s method for a “Slip Stitch Heel With a Gusset” and love how it turned out.  For me personally, I just didn’t care for the look or idea of the heel with this particular pattern.

Pattern:  Los Monos Locos/The Crazy Monkeys by Jennifer O’Sullivan

I’m going to take a bit of a break from sock knitting and work on my much neglected Misty Pearl vest.  I have already decided on a modification to the pattern and will be working approximately 10″ to12″ in stockinette to the shoulder, then will put my two front panels on stitch holders so I can work the back.  I want the feather and fan stitch pattern to match, which means I will end up seaming the shoulders.

I hope you all have had a great weekend!

Until next time, happy knitting, crocheting, spinning and crafting!

Thank you Judith and that was my thoughts too. I want the design to flow right as well, so the reason for knitting the back separate.

Wow! Congratulations Tina! You did a great job matching the yarn on those socks! They look fantastic!
Love the way the vest is progressing too. I’m sure it’s going to look great when it’s finished too. :)

Thank you Sandie! As I told Lolly, it was pure luck matching them up 😊. I’m excited about my vest and look forward to finishing it so I can wear it!
