Indie Patterns

I am a yarnaholic, fiberholic kind of gal who loves knitting, spinning and crafting in general! I create from a direct inspiration of color, character and texture of the yarn I’m working with that results in an unique one of a kind design .

You can find all my patterns online at Raverly as instant downloads.

Alba is the Scottish Gaelic name for Scotland. The term first appears in classical texts as Ἀλβίων or Ἀλουΐων (in Ptolemy’s writings), later as Albion in Latin documents. Historically, the term refers to Britain as a whole and it later came to be used by Gaelic speakers in the form of Alba.

Knitting: Cloche Hat
I love the hats of the 1920’s, especially the tight, snug fitting cloche hats that were very popular. This design was inspired by those designs, as well as the lovely grays and purples in the handspun that I used.

There is nothing more beautiful than the sunrises and sunsets of Arizona. The colors of hand-painted wool yarn by Indy Dyer, Lamb’s Ears, truly echos the colors in the sky, especially during the Arizona monsoon season.

Knitting: Cowl, Beanie, Toque
Inspired by the color of both yarns used to create the design, along with a very simple stitch pattern that yields a slightly textured design, this stretchy hat and cowl set with the added touch of art yarn gives the feeling of an early fall day. Both pieces give the impression on an era gone by, reminiscent of the early 1900’s.
